Savour a picnic in a Mallorca winery built on a hillside

September is fast approaching and the vineyards are almost ripe for picking. It is a fantastic month for taking a holiday, especially in Mallorca, and Can Bordoy Grand House & Garden has created a new experience called “Picnic in a Winery.”
It combines the magic of fine wine tasting with haute cuisine, along with the breathtaking views of the Tramuntana mountains, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2011, as a backdrop. A dreamlike experience that is hosted in Castell Miquel (Alaró), a winery inaugurated in the 90s and located in one of the most beautiful areas of the Sierra de Tramuntana. The winery’s distinctive feature is that its vineyards grow on the hillside and scattered on the typical terraces found in this part of the island. In addition to its unforgettable landscape, the complexity and corpulence of Castell Miquel’s wines are noteworthy, as the grapevines are protected by both the sea breeze that balances the temperature during the hot summer; and the vineyard’s dry stone walls in the winter, resulting in superb wine. The experience, which can also be hosted other wineries in Mallorca, includes transfer from the hotel to the winery, a vineyard tour and a tasting of its emblematic wines. It can be accompanied by the winery’s produce or with a delicious picnic prepared by the chef of the Botànic restaurant in Can Bordoy, Andrés Benítez.
